General FAQs

Once software is purchased, all access details will be emailed to the license owner indicated during the purchase.

No, all of the software products are web-based programs so there is not a requirement for additional IT. If you do have technical issues/questions with the software, call the JCR Technical Support team at 877.223.6866 (option 2) or email the below mailbox.

For after hours, weekends and holidays you can leave a voicemail to the Customer Technical Support voicemail box and the team will get back to you within one business day.

Guest access is available in E-dition and Tracers with AMP. In E-dition, the user has access to the standards manual. In Tracers with AMP, the user has the ability to add observations to a specific tracer without the program administrator needing to create a profile for the user.

Passwords can be reset by the user by clicking on the forgot password link and providing an email address or the answers to security questions.

Licensed organizations are allowed an unlimited number of users throughout the enterprise, with an unlimited number of users per role.

Recommended browsers are Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.

E-dition

Yes, E-dition includes all of the content in the printed manual.

E-dition® provides online access to Joint Commission standards and elements of performance. It has the same content as the Comprehensive Standards Manual.

Purchase E-dition

ECM® Plus is only offered for the Hospital program. E-dition Hospital Program is included with the purchase of ECM Plus. However, all other Joint Commission accredited programs (Ambulatory, Home Care, Laboratory, Behavioral Health, etc.) would need to purchase E-dition for those programs if they want online access.

Whichever Tracers with AMP accreditation program you purchase, that E-dition accreditation license is included.

E-dition Compliance Monitor® Plus (ECM® Plus) FAQs

E-dition Compliance Monitor Plus (ECM Plus) crosswalks Joint Commission Standards and EPs to the related Federal CoPs, SOM, State Regulations, and related national organizations. This online tool is automatically updated daily as regulations are revised and can save you hours of research time. You can:

  1. Create custom crosswalks of Joint Commission hospital standards and EPs to related CMS Conditions of Participation (CoPs), A-tags, state regulations, and NFPA codes.
  2. Access full text regulations from major federal agencies and all 50 states.
  3. Conduct powerful searches for specific regulations with a few simple clicks.
  4. Receive a daily list and email alert on regulations that apply to your organization and your state(s); and
  5. Experience the integration of content between ECM Plus and Tracers with AMP.

Tracers with AMP® can give you the tools you need to efficiently manage risk and help your organization stay survey-ready. This web-based software solution anticipates, reduces, and reports risk across your organization — putting you in control. You can analyze performance, compare sites and departments, and prioritize improvements with user-friendly dashboards, and easy-to-build, automated reporting. It creates transparency for you and your leaders and supports your ability to take action.

Purchase Tracers with AMP

Data including scoring, organization notes, plans of action, and associated documents will be migrated. Scores will be migrated for EPs that have not been identified as having been revised by The Joint Commission®. For those EPs that had a significant change the score will be reset to "Not Score", but all other information will be migrated.

Tracers with AMP is available for the Hospital, Ambulatory Health Care, Behavioral Health Care, Critical Access Hospital, Home Care, Laboratory, Nursing Care Center, and Office Based Surgery programs.

Yes. Disease-Specific Care and Advanced Disease-Specific Care standards and elements of performance are included with the Tracers with AMP purchase.

CMS Conditions of Participation are available for the Ambulatory Care, Hospital and Critical Access Hospital programs for an additional fee.

Purchase Tracers with AMP

Absolutely, Tracers with AMP is designed to cater to both scenarios. It offers expert-built tracer templates and a comprehensive question library suitable for organizations at any stage of their tracer program. Additionally, the platform allows customization with your organization's existing tools, ensuring a seamless fit for both newcomers and those with robust tracer practices.  The platform encompasses a diverse array of tracer templates crafted by our Clinical Advisors. These templates serve as expert-built frameworks that accommodate organizations at various stages of their accreditation journey. The platform boasts an extensive library of questions that transcend the current maturity level of your tracer program.

The Tracers with AMP platform offers multiple options for reporting. There is an Analytics feature that presents Tracers with AMP data in dashboard visual form. There are also many other reports in the product including SAFER® Matrix, departmental comparison, tracer aggregate, and top priorities with custom filtering options. There are also enterprise level reports for leadership to provide a snapshot of compliance across a health system.

The Resource Library within Tracers with AMP contains User Guides, instructional videos, and optional webinars you can register for which can help answer many common questions. Yes, Tracers with AMP is optimized for mobile devices. You can download the mobile application called JCR Tracers and access after purchase. JCR Tracers is utilized for collecting tracer observations on the go.

The Joint Commission does not have access to any Tracers with AMP data. JCR software is subject to a strict firewall and no organization-specific information is shared with The Joint Commission. Joint Commission surveyors are unaware if an organization has Tracers with AMP and JCR eProducts does not have information about when an organization will be surveyed.

Customers have access to Clinical Advisors, who are clinicians with a deep understanding of Joint Commission standards, tracer methodology, performance of mock surveys, and workflows.

In addition to a dedicated Clinical Advisor, the Resource Library within Tracers with AMP contains User Guides, instructional videos, and a calendar of monthly optional webinars you can register for which can help answer many common questions. Tracers with AMP features both the ability to import and export a published Tracer from one site or program to another site or program. In addition, organizations within a system can use the Manage System Tracers feature to maintain standardized Tracers across multiple sites. Tracers can be copied in a locked (standardized) or unlocked (customizable) state to other sites within the system.

A library with hundreds of customizable tracer templates across the continuum of care for Joint Commission Elements of Performance (EPs) and CMS Conditions of Participation (CoPs) is available. Customers can choose to build, reuse, or customize their own Tracers for rapid enterprise deployment.

Tracers with AMP does not currently interface with work order systems, but the product is designed to support tracking and follow-up of work order processes using tasks and reports.

Multiple cycles of Requirements for Improvement (RFIs) and Evidence of Standards Compliance (ESC) are available to be downloaded by the organization if they choose to grant permission for this feature. The feature is enabled through a written attestation and can be turned off any time the organization wishes. Enabling the RFI/ESC download does not provide access to Tracers with AMP to The Joint Commission.

Yes, Tracers with AMP is available for mobile devices. Users can download the mobile application for both iPhone or Android users to access after purchase and begin collecting tracer observations on the go. The mobile app allows you to optimize tracer usage throughout your organization, quickly add notes via a voice-to-text feature, and upload photos for inclusion in reports.

The guest user role provides the ability to send a link to a specific Tracer for completion. The guest user is provided a username (email); however, this guest user role does not have access to login to the platform. The username is strictly provided for secure access to the Tracer link, and for reporting purposes.

Uploading of images to a Tracer can be completed through a web browser, or the mobile application.

CMS Conditions of Participation are available for the Hospital, Critical Access Hospital and Ambulatory Surgery Center accreditation programs. Additional functionality is available to manage and score both Joint Commission standards and CMS compliance requirements within one tool by purchasing a license for Tracer with AMP plus CMS.

Although Tracers with AMP fully supports Joint Commission accredited organizations and contains CMS Regulations, there are features which allow the tool to be used for compliance with other requirements. Report tags can be used to tag questions to requirements from organizations not already embedded in Tracers with AMP. Report Tags are brief descriptions of the question topic or requirement that can be selected to display in analytics.
